Our aim is to advance and encourage the training, working and competition of all working minority Retriever breeds. Such as the Curly Coated Retriever, Irish Water Spaniel, Flat Coated Retriever, Chesapeake Bay Retriever & the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever.
Our aim is to organise Field Trials, Gundog Working Tests, Working Gundog Certificate Days, training days and any other type of Field events authorised by the Kennel Club....
We are extremely passionate about the minority breeds we represent and our Members are encouraged and expected to health test all breeding stock following the required standard of the Kennel Club Assured Breeder Scheme.
The Club also encourages members to breed dogs that are "fit for Purpose". Members should also consider these factors prior to breeding -• Working ability• Temperament• Breed Type and Characteristics• Health Screening• Genetic Diversity (Co-efficient of inbreeding)
Please complete an events form from the download area to register for any training days
Unfortunately due to government advice regarding Coronavirus, staying at home and no social gatherings, we have cancelled all events up until August at this time. We will review when will will be starting up again on an ongoing basis.
The committee are still gathering online for meetings to continue to plan future events.
We have Land Owners who have been kind enough to offer us the opportunity to run some additional events later this year, however for now we are unable to confirm any dates until we know that it is safe for all our members to gather together again.
As we are unable to to run events, the committee have taken the decision to roll membership for current members for an additional
12 months, so renewal will not now be due until April 2021.
The club would like to wish you all the best. Stay safe all of you, enjoy spending time and training your dogs at home and hopefully we will be back up and running again very soon.

Throughout the year we team up with our Minority Breed Retrievers and attend demonstrations and breed appreciation pavilions at the Heritage Fairs & other country shows. We set up breed pens in a pavilion that are decorated with breed info and ensure knowledgeable owners are on hand to give the correct advice and information on their individual breeds ensuring the public can be correctly educated on our unique working gundogs. We are an all encompassing club and invite minority Spaniels, HPR'S & Setters to these events where appropriate. If you are interested in attending one of these events with your dog and would like to take part in the fun, please complete the attached pavilion form and email it back to Judy at email@example.com
